Annie was surrendered to us on May 3rd, 2024 by a very caring Lady.
She purchased Annie (former name Layla) over a horse flipper on Facebook sight unseen.
Annie seemed fine when she first arrived at the Lady's house so she sent her off to a trainer.
When Annie returned she was lame and had a hematoma on her inner right thigh.
It's unclear if she had problems before she was sent off for training or if it happened there.
Her previous owner just wanted the best for her, so she and a close friend who tried to rehab her first, reached out to us after a couple of months with no success rehabbing her.
Annie was seen by a vet and the medical records state that she has a hematoma and muscle atrophy. Both conditions are very easy to make out and her lameness is hard to miss.
We took Annie in because we hope we can work some magic, but most of all, so she doesn't end up in the wrong hands.
Annie is scheduled with our clinic for May 16, 2024 for a full lameness exam, x-rays and ultrasound to get to the bottom of what is going on. We started treating Annie with PEMF for now until our appointment, to discuss further treatment.
This little Appaloosa mare is so sweet and we hope we can get her back to being sound.
Of course all of this costs money so every little donation towards her first vet bill is very much appreciated because I think it's going to be quite expensive and we have a long road ahead of us!
But this girl deserves it! I truly have the impression that she never had her own person to bond with even though she is so affectionate. The pictures don't do her justice either! She is absolutely gorgeous and her two blue eyes are just something else!
