This sweet old boy was surrendered to us on December 12, 2021.
The poor guy just wasn't living in a good situation standing in mud knee deep. His owner loved him very much but had no financial resources left to take care of him or even feed him. Thanks to helping neighbors he wasn't starving. (They actually contacted us asking for help.)
So we hooked up the trailer and went and got him. Takota is a 25 year old Quarter Horse/ Morgan mix. He's blind in his right eye but a sweet boy. When he arrived we gave him some time to get settled in and then he got a really good spa.
Yesterday, December 11, Takota full health treatment today. Dr. Lauren came out and he got a health exam and we did a SAA which came back 0 so he got fully vaccinated. His coggings was drawn and also blood to check if he's got Cushing. His dentals got floated and his sheath cleaned. He now gets equioxx daily. Our farrier came out yesterday evening and gave him a trim.
Takota is eating and drinking well and seems to be pretty happy. The boy is a treat hawk. Always checking your pockets if something good might be in there.
