03/28/2022
On Tuesday 03/22/2022 we paid the bail for this beautiful Belgian mare. She was supposed to ship to slaughter the next morning but instead she arrived on Saturday 03/26/2022 at our farm in safety.
My husband decided to call her Teeny because of our big boy Tiny.
Teeny is very much under weight and she started eating hay right away.
At first we thought she was in heat, but later in the evening it became more obvious that something else might be going on. On Sunday 03/27/2022 it became even more obvious that she was desperate trying to pee and she also kept shifting her weight back and forward so we had Dr. Johnson come out on an emergency call because she was also showing signs that suggested that she might be having a colic.
The diagnosis was devastating!
What first seemed to appear as a bladder stone on the ultra sound turned out to be a tumor/cancer in her bladder after doing an endoscopy. It's the size of a men's fist. Her bladder is also very much inflamed.
It's sad to know that after all she's been through and having a hard life, all we can do for her now is to keep her as comfortable as possible by giving her banamine and ulcer gard for her stomach. We hope we can give her at least a few more month and just show her lots of love and spoil her endlessly.
Any small donations are greatly appreciate towards her saving, her vet bill from yesterday and future care!
Her bail was: $1200
Transport: $75
Vet bill: probably about $800/will be uploaded as soon as we receive it.
